Mel Johnson is a graduate from California State University, Fresno. She is looking to broaden her skills as a scenic designer and as a scenic artist.

A small detour in my career was used to learn how to build electric guitars and that is now a side hobby that I am also very passionate about.

Being born and raised in Fresno I have always grown up around a variety of cultures and immigrated families. It is important to me to use my painting and art to help Black, Indigenous and People of Color tell their stories through theatre. Many of the shows I have worked on have been BIPOC stories and I am excited to work on more.
